Joboshare iPad Rip is a neat utility that lets you transfer content from and to your iPad. It becomes very useful when you want to download a few songs from your device when you are away from your home computer or when you simply don't want to go over the syncing process.
When this utility detects your iPad, it will display a short summary of your device that includes information like device name, type, version number, capacity, and how much space is used for movies, music, books, etc.
The graphical user interface is divided in two panes. The one on the left shows all the connected devices. Under each device's name, you will see a list of all the types of files that can be transferred. When I connected my iPad 2, the app allowed me to transfer my audio (songs), video, books, ringtones, photos, camera roll, SMSs, contact information, podcasts and iTunes U content. All your playlists will be listed here as well. The pane on the right will show all the files stored on your phone. For example, if you click on "Audio", you will see all your songs on the right. I found that some books were listed here for some reason. This is probably a bug.
To transfer a file, you simply need to select it and choose whether you want to copy it to a folder on your computer or to an iTunes library, in the case of movies and songs.
I tested the app by copying a song and a movie from my iPad to a folder on my computer. The process was smooth and quick, and the transferred files played just fine in iTunes.
